Barcaccia: modernity and exclusivity
Barcaccia, designed by the young Interior Designer Martina Ippoliti and created by AFA Arredamenti, is a modern and exclusive location, located in one of the historic squares of Rome, Piazza di Spagna. The restaurant has a design that can offer the right reception at any time of the day. The aim of the project was to create a totally open and integrated environment in the square: the bar with its glazed entrance becomes a side street of Piazza di Spagna like Via dei Condotti, the back wall of its fifth and the entrance to the restaurant.
Inside the white dominates in all its nuances and suggests plays of thicknesses and shadows enriching and exasperating the sober cleaning of the walls. The staircase, evocatively illuminated with technological LEDs that enhance its simplicity and transparency, becomes a breaking element in a classic space. From the staircase, looking up, you can see the unexpected and amazing cellar set in a crystal cube. Every corner of the room is enjoyed, discovered and savored step by step, with measured tones, simple but never predictable, that awaken ancient memories. The windows are simple frames with a unique glimpse of Piazza di Spagna.
