Sigep 2013: many competitions during this edition
The Sigep 2013, the most important fair in the world in the sector of artisanal ice cream and European showcase of confectionery and coffee, returned to Rimini from 19 to 23 January with many innovations in raw materials, ingredients, plants, equipment, furniture and services for ice cream, pastry and bakery.
In addition to the gluttonous stands, even in this edition the calendar was full of events and competitions, such as the World Cup of ice cream, the International Bakery Championship, the World Championship of female pastries, the Gran Galà of pastry, the Italian Championship of pastry and chocolate shop and the Italian Seniors pastry championship.
The competitions and awards that have been there are:
- From January 20th to 22nd: Siga / Associazione Italiana Gelatieri and Rimini Fiera promote an international competition for Italian and foreign gelato makers. The best hazelnut-flavored ice-cream and the best new taste of ice-cream will be awarded.
- The awards will be at the Gelateria Forum (Hall C1), January 22 at 17.00.
- On January 21st, at 2 pm in the Diotallevi hall of Rimini Fiera, the award ceremony for the Design Gelato Cone Evolution contest is scheduled, the challenge for the design of the cone-gelato of the future, organized by the Bruto Foundation and Poerio Carpigiani and with judges the London designer Tom Dixon and Babbi.
- Sunday 20 in Hall 5, chef Gianfranco Vissani, owner of the Casa Vissani restaurant and well-known television personality, will present some exclusive recipes at the Staff Ice System stand.
