The colors of the World Championship awaits you at the National Museum of Science in Milan
From May 5 to June 3, “The colors of the World Championship” will take place. It is an exhibition with the creations of Aldo Drudi, the designer who “color” the speed. The exhibition will be held at the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo Da Vinci, in via San Vittore, 21, in Milan.
Regarding the exhibition, Aldo Drudi says he thought of it looking for a different way of telling motorcycling, that is, the one who knows how he attends the paddock, not the one that, to many, can only seem something technical or obsessive, like people who turn around around the track to go louder and louder. It is absolutely not like that. The passion for speed is, according to the designer, something that comes from far away, that everyone has inside. Going a little stronger than what you can do with your body, has always fascinated man, from the discovery of the wheel onwards. The fascination of speed is something ancestral, that everyone can perceive. Pilots, when they wear overalls and helmets, is like stepping back in time. Medieval knights who are preparing to face the battle, recognizable by the livery of their families. If once the weapons were spears or swords, today they are the bikes with which every Sunday they take to the track to challenge themselves first and then the opponents. And it is precisely through the graphics and design of these objects that, with this exhibition, we want to tell the romantic soul of motorcycling.
Special activities of the Museum during the weekends
Sunday May 6th, May 27th and June 3rd, it will be possible to book a guided tour in the Museum’s stores to discover the collection of historical motorcycles, for the first time entirely visible. On Sunday 6 May, during the first opening weekend, the public will have as an exceptional guide Marco Iezzi, curator of the Museum Transport. It will be possible to retrace the history of the two-wheeled vehicle, which from a little more than a motorized bicycle, with ever more aerodynamic shapes, is transformed into one of the futuristic and modern symbols. The production models of the most famous Italian brands (Frera 2HP, Benelli 147, Guzzi Normale 500, Bianchi A 500, Lambretta 125 A) and the most famous and curious racing models such as Vespa and Lambretta torpedo, MV Agusta and Gilera will be exhibited. Timetable 11 | 14 | 16 – duration 1 hour – age +9 – max 20 people per shift.
Reservations required at: museoscienza.bestunion.com
All the opening weekends of the exhibition thanks to the collaboration with Milestone and Sony Interactive Entertainment, visitors can immerse themselves in the realism of the MotoGP ™ facing a first person race up to the last bend choosing the track, the rider and the bike, inspired by those exposed on show. Taking advantage of the presence of several game stations you can engage in a live competition with other visitors present. Through a dedicated video station it will be possible to deepen the background of how today a simulation racing is carried out with pilots, tracks and photorealistic bikes and cutting-edge techniques such as drone scanning. The activity is recommended from 7 years and will be available, on rotation and without reservation, while seats last.
The exhibition is included in the admission ticket to the Museum
La Gazzetta dello Sport, the most widely read Italian newspaper and the most clicked sports magazine, has always been close to the world of motors and tells stories and characters with passion and is enthusiastically involved in the creation of this exhibition.
The exhibition is spread over two rooms: Olona and Aeronavale for about 1,000 square meters. The exhibition was designed by Aldo Drudi and Livio Cismondi Owner of Peraria Supporting Events, reiterating the historic collaboration born with the sophisticated Air Garage project in Rimini and with the scenography dedicated to the special events of Riccione. Livio says: “Like most men, I approached the world of engines and speed from an early age. Growing up, the beauty in every expression has catalyzed my interest. When I met Aldo I understood that the two things can not only be complementary, but the two sides of the same coin. I was lucky in my life, starting from a town in the province of Cuneo of 500 souls, to explore the world. And I understood that the history, culture and skills of our country are unparalleled and must continue to represent the fuel for our growth and future generations. Aldo is an example and a hope, just like me. This project is a bit ‘our arrival and our departure. And I’m proud to be a part of it! ”
Rigor, practicality, display and great scenic effect ensure originality and consistency to the racing world
The creative genius of Aldo Drudi is the most immediate expression of that passion, ingenuity and entrepreneurial skills that are the founding elements of the Motor Valley of Emilia Romagna, a two-and four-wheel “park” unique in the world. Along the Via Emilia were born mild two and four wheels such as Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Pagani, Ducati, De Tomaso, Dallara, Morini, real entrepreneurial excellences fruit of a region always technologically advanced. In addition to international events of great appeal (such as the Grand Prix of San Marino and the Riviera of Rimini, test of the Moto GP on the Circuit of Misano Adriatico), the Land of Motors counts 188 sports teams (between clubs and stables), 9 company museums (including the Museo Enzo Ferrari of Modena, the Ferrari Museum of Maranello, the Automobili Lamborghini Museum, the Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum and the Ducati Museum of Bologna), a circuit of 21 private collections, 4 racetracks (the “Riccardo Paletti” in Varano de ‘Melegari, the Autodromo di Modena in Marzaglia, the “Enzo e Dino Ferrari” in Imola and the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Misano Adriatico), as well as 11 karting tracks. An offer of museums, collections, circuits and events that is unparalleled in the world and has become a real touristic product, with ad hoc holiday packages created to go to the discovery of Emilia Romagna’s “Land of Motors”, while tasting at the same time the unique food and wine and the incomparable offer of art, culture and landscapes of this region (www.motorvalley.com).

Here’s what Aldo Drudi says:
“I think that to design products for motorcycling you can not ignore the passion for this sport and you must have driven motorcycles on the track to know what it is. It is necessary to taste the atmosphere of the paddock to synthesize in special products the bombardment of technological solutions, emotions and colors, characteristics of the fantastic racing world. The friendship with many of the pilots with whom I have worked and the sharing of lifestyle, gives me a great professional advantage, everything becomes simpler, almost natural and the design becomes an answer to the actual needs of the motorcyclist “.
“In my opinion the future of motorbike design will be the exaltation of the technical solutions that will become their own style”.
As long as the back holds up I will ride a motorbike!
